Dr Jared Addison BSc BVMS(Hons) MANZCVS(Emergency & Critical Care) MANZCVS(Small Animal Medicine)
Dr Jared Addison has always been interested in understanding how things work, what can go wrong and then how to fix those problems. This problem solving nature was carried over to being a vet after spending time working with a local veterinarian who was a friend. The experience showed him the breadth of experience that being a vet allowed and from then he was sold on his career choice.
Dr Addison graduated in 2008 and worked for a year at a 24 hour general practice where he got a taste for emergency and critical care. Following this he commenced with Perth Vet Emergency where he is now the Director and Veterinary Manager. He has also gained Membership in the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in the fields of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care as well as Small Animal Medicine.
“I’m passionate about the field of Critical Care. The patients are the sickest we deal with and require the consideration of every aspect of their illness, physiology and treatment. We are also able to build close relationships with the owners of these patients as they are usually hospitalised for a number of days.”
Jared is proud of PVE’s progression since he commenced with the company years ago. “PVE is more than just a workplace and the staff are more than just employees. We have a culture where staff are more akin to family and there is support, friendship and unified vision to provide the best patient care we can.”
In his spare time, Jared loves to exercise and stay fit and healthy with a variety of sports and activities. He also loves spending time with his young daughter Bailey Rose he describes as “an absolute delight.” Jared has a Black Labrador called Diego. “He spends so much time in our bed we have 3 pillows so he can pick his favourite and we sleep around him.”
