Kim Gorey RVN
Kim commenced her veterinary career while working with the RSPCA reception team. She wanted to do more to help animals so she transitioned to nursing where she worked in the surgical center at a general practice before moving in to emergency and critical care nursing.
“I love the fast pace and providing intensive care to patients when they need it. I also love working at PVE because the close knit family are compassionate, intelligent and are willing to share their knowledge and experience.”
Kim has spent a month in Namibia working at a wildlife rescue facility. “It was the most amazing experience sleeping under the starts with lion cubs and working on enrichment programs for all the animals to be released into a protected sanctuary surrounding the facility. I plan on going to Cambodia in the next few years, when my daughter is a little older, to work with Sunbears and help rescue them from the bile farming that sadly continues in this day and age. Kim is also a long standing member of Free The Bears and Sea Shepard.
In her spare time she likes to read lots of books. Her pets include Sadie a Bully x Lab who is neurotic though adorable and very loyal. Dude is a Domestic Short Hair cat who was rescued as a kitten. He lives up to his name as “he’s one cool cat!” and there’s also Mr Nimbus a Domestic Long Hair. “He’s my daughter’s best friend. They like to play under the hose, on the trampoline and watch the iPad together. It melts my heart watching these two.”
